Welcome 2009!

Is it valid to wish Happy New year 2009 in Feb? I think I can :-) I have been absent for over a month being very busy with the shifting of apartments, preparation for our house warming and travel to chennai as well. But after nearly 2 years of wait, our apartment's construction and the internal woodwork, plumbing etc are all done!

On Feb 8th we had a grand housewarming ceremony! Nearly 100+ guests had come in and it felt great to have all of them come in and bless us.

Sick Kiddos!

Both Kavya and Keerthna are sick with some kind of viral infection! It started with Kavya having a temperature of 101 on sat night. It didn't reduce even with crocin (paracetamol) poured down her throat every 4-5 hrs. Sunday i took her to a local hospital just to check her ears and throat for any infection, they confirmed that she does have throat infection but totally scared me by saying she has to be admitted and be given sponge bath to reduce her temperature. Its not good for her to take paracetamol every 4-5 hrs (WTH??) I told him (assistant doc) that I will check with my pedi and then get back. My pedi - who is out of town but was so helpful by allowing me to interrupt her vacation advised me to start her on an antibiotic right away for the infection and was a little concerned with the low hemoglobin (7.1) but did not see a reason for admission. so sunday was spent with me giving Kavya sponge bath and wet cloth on the forehead to reduce the temp.

Monday morning we went to see another pedi, who recommended another paracetamol - Neftol which broke Kavya's temperature and she was back to normal at 2pm. I am giving her anti-malarial just in case.

As if this drama was not enough.. Keerthu started running temperature last night. Took her to the pedi right away and started her on Neftol.

I am at work today physically but mentally with the kids!

Sibling Love

My sister paid us a flying visit with her kiddo Krishna early this week. Keerthu and Kavya loved playing with their baby brother. Keerthu not so much since it meant sharing her toys :-) But Kavya loved being the big sister and was so proud that they had come to visit 'her'!

After 3 failed attempts, we finally managed to get some great pictures of Kavya and Keerthna. The photographer did a great job in capturing these moments.. amidst Keerthna running away from the flash, Kavya running behind her, people queuing outside for passport pictures.. you get the idea.

Keerthna was endlessly posing, but Kavya had reached the end of her patience and just refused to cooperate. No amount of bribing worked!

Bald Cuties

Here are the cuties, bathed and dressed in dhothi. This is the traditional dress that boys wear for any Indian ceremony.. K&K are in it for fun.
